Golden Balance Hummus – Mediterranean/Ayurvedic Fusion

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1½ cups cooked chickpeas (or 1 can, drained and rinsed)
  • 2 tbsp tahini (calming, grounding, rich in calcium)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (cleansing, lightens heaviness)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (lubricates and soothes all doshas)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder (anti-inflammatory, balances all doshas)
  • ¼ tsp ground cumin (stimulates digestion, good for Kapha & Vata)
  • 1 pinch black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption, balances Kapha)
  • Salt to taste (rock salt is ideal in Ayurveda)
  • 2–4 tbsp warm water (optional, to thin the texture)

Optional Garnish:

  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Chopped fresh parsley (cleansing for Pitta)
  • Dash of sweet paprika or sumac (cooling, mildly pungent)
  • Toasted sesame seeds or pumpkin seeds (nutty crunch for Vata grounding)

Dosha Benefits:
