Lightly Spiced Caprese (Ayurveda-Inspired)

Servings: 2
Time: 10 minutes
Dosha Focus: Also great for Pitta in moderation
Style: Italian classic, with subtle Ayurvedic upgrade

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe heirloom or Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 small ball of fresh mozzarella (or use soft paneer for a more sattvic/Ayurvedic option)
  • ΒΌ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp cold-pressed olive oil
  • ΒΌ tsp coriander powder (gentle, sweet-spice note)
  • Tiny pinch of black salt or sea salt
  • Optional: a few drops of pomegranate molasses or rosewater for an exotic, cooling twist

Instructions:

  1. Layer tomato slices and cheese on a plate.
  2. Sprinkle with coriander powder and salt.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
  4. Garnish with torn basil and a drop or two of pomegranate molasses or rosewater (optional but divine).
  5. Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.

Why it works: The coriander adds a sweet, mildly cooling spice, while basil, tomato, and soft cheese stay light and fresh for Pitta.
